BIO
Jeremy's love of music originates from the way he physically experiences sound as three dimensional texture and light, a neurological condition called synesthesia. His works celebrate sensory experience and poetic structure through the mediums of counterpoint and timbre.
Zerbe is an adjunct professor at Pepperdine University, scoring theatrical productions as the Composer and Music Director since 2021 including The Tempest and Passage. He received his Master's degree from CSUN in 2024. His award-winning compositions (Synesthesia String Quartet, Flavors in Tone Color, Silver and Gold) are performed by celebrated ensembles like the Los Angeles Brass Alliance, Brightwork New Music, Con Brio String Orchestra, and several LA-based String Quartets. His style combines Baroque and spectral techniques, with a fixation on infinite sequences and tone color. His career scoring, recording, and contracting musicians for 7 films, 6 plays, 5 games, a yoga & meditation app (Open), and orchestrating for multi-genre songwriters feature his distinctive cello production style. Originally from the Finger Lakes region of upstate New York, Jeremy lives and works in Hollywood, LA.
